Why Thermal Inspections Are Essential for Solar Farms
Have you considered how thermal drones revolutionize solar farm inspections? With their cutting-edge technology, drones provide fast, thorough inspections that significantly enhance safety while reducing costs. By identifying heat signals not visible to the human eye, we can zero in on a multitude of issues affecting your solar energy's efficiency and longevity.
How Thermal Drones Improve Safety & Efficiency
Comprehensive and Rapid Scanning: Why spend hours walking the field with handheld tools when drones can sweep across your vast solar networks swiftly and autonomously?
Proactive Issue Identification: Did you know thermal imaging can spot potential troublemakers like faulty cells and micro-cracks before they sap your system's power? Early detection enables us to conduct preventative maintenance, preventing small hiccups from becoming major setbacks.
Spotting Subtle Problems: Have you noticed the influence of dust buildup, bird droppings, overgrown vegetation, or shadows? Our thermal scans can highlight these often-overlooked efficiency drains.
Optimizing Energy Output: How quickly do you address identified problems? Fast localization of issues facilitates targeted maintenance that helps you restore energy production and secure your revenue streams.
Minimizing Personnel Risks: Why expose technicians to risky manual inspections in tough spots when drones can handle it? Our drones save your team from the dangers of falls, shocks, and heat exhaustion.
Accessing Hard-to-Reach Areas: Are there panels in tricky locations? Drones are adept at maneuvering over challenging terrains and steep roofs where human access is risky.

Precise Reporting & Actionable Insights
Precision-Targeted Repairs: Imagine how much easier repairs could be with precise information at your fingertips. Drones deliver geotagged visual and thermal images that take the guesswork out of your maintenance efforts. By identifying the exact locations in need of attention, they streamline the repair process, ensuring that every repair is both time-effective and cost-efficient.
Strong Documentation for Warranties: When it comes to warranties or claims, clear and compelling evidence is key. Our drones provide high-resolution, radiometric data that offers indisputable evidence, ensuring that you can make robust claims. This documentation gives you leverage, providing reliable proof that substantiates your warranty requests and bolsters any claims you might need to make.
Tracking Long-term Trends: Regularly assessing performance trends is crucial for long-term success. Drone assessments create a historical timeline of your solar farm's operational performance. This regular tracking allows you to spot trends and predict maintenance needs before problems arise, ultimately preserving your investment and extending the life of your solar panels.
Lower Costs & Higher Return on Investment
Reducing Labor and Downtime: Manual checks are often labor-intensive and time-consuming, driving up costs unnecessarily. Our automated drone inspections minimize the need for such hefty labor input, drastically cutting down both operational times and costs. The reduction in required manpower and downtime translates directly into significant savings for your operations.
Enhancing Return on Investment: Your Return on Investment is crucial, and maintaining peak efficiency is key to maximizing it. By swiftly addressing power-reducing issues with the help of drones, you ensure optimum performance. This proactive approach accelerates your return on investment by keeping your solar farm operating at its highest potential, so you can reap the financial benefits more quickly.

What To Expect
If you are located within a five-mile radius of an airport, we may need to obtain a waiver from the FAA to conduct your flights. At SkyScope, we have extensive expertise in navigating FAA procedures to secure the necessary clearances. Please note that this process could take several weeks, depending on the current FAA workloads.
Before Your Appointment
01
After booking your appointments with us, please review and sign the emailed inspection agreement. This crucial step ensures that your inspection is fully confirmed and ready to proceed. If you sign up for weekly, biweekly, or monthly service, we will schedule the flights for the entire construction schedule season dates on the initial agreement. This one-time signing will cover all visits to the property.
On Flight Day
02
Due to the nature of drone flights, the inspector does not require access to the physical site, as the drone can take off from an adjacent parking lot and complete the flight. This feature enhances safety by reducing the number of people accessing the site, even for inspection purposes.
Receive your detailed report
03
We use the DroneDeploy program to process the thermal data. Post-flight, we will process the data and grant you access to it.
