Property and Structural Concerns
-
Structural Damage: Lack of maintenance can lead to serious issues, like foundation or roof damage.
-
Water and Mold Damage: Leaks in pipes, roofs, or gutters may cause mold and rot.
-
Pest Infestation: Unoccupied properties often draw in pests, such as termites or rodents.
-
System Failures: Without regular inspections, utility systems might fail.
Security and Legal Risks
-
Theft and Vandalism: Vacant homes are tempting targets for thieves and vandals, risking damage and loss.
-
Trespassing and Squatters: Empty properties can be taken over by unauthorized occupants, leading to legal issues.
-
Illegal Activity: Vacant places may be used for unlawful activities, posing serious legal risks to owners.

Our Services
At Skyscope, we recognize that protecting your rental or second home investment is crucial. We've highlighted potential concerns you could face with an unoccupied property. To spot these issues early, we offer a Drop-By Service, providing a quick and thorough assessment.
How Do We Maintain Affordability?
Since the home is vacant, aligning the inspection with the inspector's availability is more flexible. We offer a 4-day timeframe for visits, allowing the inspector to stop by when in the vicinity.
What Do You Get With The Inspection?
With each home visit, we deliver a detailed report, including photos of the exterior, kitchen, garage, three indoor shots, and the thermostat. We also perform a walkthrough to identify any concerns needing attention.
Service Frequency Options
-
Most Effective for Identifying Issues: opt for a weekly service priced at $200 monthly (4 visits a month at $50 each)
-
Best Overall Value: We recommend our bi-weekly service at $100 monthly ($50 per visit)
-
More Budget-Friendly: choose a monthly service for just $50

What To Expect
We make the inspection process simple — from scheduling to receiving your detailed report.
Confirm Your Appointment
01
After booking your appointment with us, please review and sign the emailed inspection agreement. This crucial step ensures your inspection is fully confirmed and ready to proceed. If you sign up for a weekly, biweekly, or monthly service, we will schedule the 4-day window for the entire vacant season dates on the initial agreement. This one-time signing will cover all visits to the property during the Vacant Season.
Attend Your Inspection
02
On the day of the inspection, it is essential that the inspector has access to the property. We recommend that rentals have a key lockbox secured to the side of the home, with an access code. Please provide us with this code upon confirming the inspection.
Receive your detailed report
03
Following the inspection, we will send you a report that highlights your property's condition. This report is accessible once the inspection fee has been paid in full.
